Man injured in crash that killed two cows

STEPHENS CITY — A local teen was injured and two cows are dead following a single-vehicle crash on Double Church Road Monday night.

Virginia State Police Sgt. F.L. Tyler said 19-year-old Ryan Patrick Finn of Winchester was taken to Winchester Medical Center after crashing into two cows around 7:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Double Church Road, near Whitfield Circle.

Tyler did not know the extent of Finn’s injuries.

The cows — which were in the road — were dead at the scene when Trooper W.A. Connelly arrived, he said.

Finn, who was driving a 1996 Honda, allegedly went off the right side of the road after hitting the cows, then up an embankment before striking a parked vehicle.

No charges were placed in the incident.

The owner of the cows was contacted about the crash but had no comment.
