Man sought for stealing jewelry from local store

WINCHESTER — City police are searching for a man who was recorded by security cameras as he stole jewelry from Bear’s Trading Post.
According to a police media release, officers were called to the store at 710 Berryville Ave. around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a report of shoplifting.
Surveillance video showed a man taking jewelry. It also showed that he was with a woman, and that the two left the business together in a white, older-model Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Police spokeswoman Lauren Cummings declined to reveal the type of jewelry taken or the value of the merchandise reported stolen.
The incident occurred well before police were called, at about 12:40 p.m., she said.
The man in the video was described as white and 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet tall, with dark facial hair. He was wearing jeans, a dark-blue shirt and a black baseball cap.
His female companion was described as white, with dark hair and about 5 feet, 5 inches tall.
