Millbrook High School has named Josh Haymore its new head football coach.  Haymore, who has a total of eight years of coaching experience at the college and high school levels, succeeds Reed Prosser.  Prosser announced in January that he was leaving Millbrook to become the head football coach at Heritage High School in Leesburg.  In addition to his coaching duties, Haymore will teach math at Millbrook.
Haymore says, “I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the Millbrook High School community where I can continue to teach and reach young people in a positive way.  I believe the experience I’ve gained as an assistant coach at both the college and high school levels will prove valuable as I work with the student-athletes, coaches, parents and administrators at Millbrook to build upon the success the Pioneers have enjoyed in recent years.”
Haymore played football at James Madison University from 2001-2004 and was a member of the Dukes’ 2004 national championship team.  His coaching career began at JMU in 2005.  During his first two seasons on the Dukes’ coaching staff, Haymore worked as an assistant defensive line and long snapper coach.  In 2007, he was promoted to the position of assistant coach-tight ends and served as the team’s video coordinator.  In 2011, he left JMU to teach math at Broadway High School and serve as a member of the school’s football coaching staff.  In 2011, he worked as the Gobblers’ offensive line, defensive ends and kicking game coach.  In 2012, he served as Broadway’s offensive coordinator and defensive ends coach.
Haymore earned a bachelor’s degree at James Madison University where he majored in mathematics and minored in secondary education.  He also earned a master’s degree at JMU in secondary education.
Millbrook High School principal Carolyn Butler says, “I’m excited to have Coach Haymore become a part of the Millbrook High School team.  His experiences as a successful college student-athlete, college coach and high school coach will help him engage students in their studies and athletic pursuits.”
