WINCHESTER — A two-car crash on Northwestern Pike (U.S. 50) Wednesday caused an estimated $7,500 in damages, but no serious injuries were reported.
According to Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Deputy D. Sardelis, the wreck occurred just before 3 p.m. at the Magic Mountain Road intersection west of the city.
The driver of a pickup truck coming off of Magic Mountain Road allegedly attempted to cross the eastbound lanes on Northwestern Pike and go west when he was hit by a van.
Sardelis said the van struck the left rear of the truck, crossed a median, drove up an embankment and rolled onto its side.
The driver of the van and her passenger were taken to Winchester Medical Center for precautionary measures, according to Sardelis, who estimated the truck sustained $2,500 damage and the van at least $5,000.
Charges could be pending, but Sardelis said that no alcohol or drug use is suspected.
