St. Luke Baptist

Shiloh Baptist Church, in Winchester, will have Family and Friends Day at 11 a.m. Oct. 21. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Franklin Roberts from Second Guildfield Baptist Church, Riverton, along with his congregation.
Boyce Baptist
“If Jesus Came to Church” will be the theme of harvest revival services at Boyce Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Edward Taylor, pastor of Amissville Baptist Church, will lead the series of messages, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and continuing at 7 p.m. through Wednesday.

Hopewell Centre
Hopewell Centre Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends will have information sessions about Quakers — what they believe, how they worship and how the live their lives in the 21st century.
These free outreach events will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 24 at Centre Meeting House, 203 N. Washington St., Winchester.
Each session begins with a 15-minute sampling of Quaker silent worship. Light refreshments will be served.

Ridings Chapel
The Rev. Lawrence Thompson, district superintendent, will be the guest speaker at 11 a.m. Sunday homecoming service at Ridings Chapel United Methodist Church. A luncheon will follow the service.

Zion Baptist
Zion Baptist Church, 10 Josephine St., Berryville, will have a revival at 7 p.m. this Wednesday to Oct. 19 with the Rev. Delbert Pope, associate minister of the Emmanuel Life Bible Church, Martinsburg, W.Va.
The 132nd church anniversary will be held Oct. 21 with pastor Hicks preaching the 11 a.m. worship. A meal will follow the service. At 3:30 p.m., the Rev. Lindsay Green and congregation of Mount Morris Baptist Church will be the guests.
The sanctuary choir’s annual day will be held at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 28 with the Rev. Kenneth Cole, associate of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Leesburg.
St. John’s Lutheran
St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3623 Back Mountain Road, Winchester, will host Mocha and a Message, contemporary gospel music along with coffee (and other beverages) and light refreshments at 6 p.m. Oct. 20 in the social hall.
There is no charge, but a freewill offering will be collected to benefit community outreach.
Weekday Religious Education
Virginia Weekday Religious Education conducts weekly 30-minute Bible classes for fourth- and fifth-grade students of Frederick County.

Stephens City UMC
Stephens City United Methodist Church Spiritual Celebration will be held Sunday, beginning at 10:15 a.m., at Stephens City Commons on Main Street.
Guest speaker will be Ret. Maj. Gen. Charles E. Williams, author of “My Road.” He will speak on “An Appeal to the Hero in Us.” This event is open to the community. Bring chairs. In case of inclement weather, it will be held in the Orrick Fellowship Hall at the church.

The Rev. Richard O’Connell Reed and Matushka Carol are establishing the Holy Family Orthodox Church in the Northern Shenandoah Valley around Woodstock.

Winchester Seventh-day Adventist
“His Helping Hands,” sponsored by the Winchester Seventh-day Adventist Church, meets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays at 156 Lambden Ave. The mission is to give back to the community by knitting, crocheting or sewing items to be donated to patients in hospitals and nursing homes.
