Republican Party candidates for lieutenant governor

The following are brief biographies of the seven candidates for the Republican Party’s nomination for lieutenant governor of Virginia. The information was gathered primarily from each candidate’s website. The party’s nominee will be selected on May 18 at the Republican Party of Virginia 2013 State Convention at the Richmond Coliseum.

Jeannemarie Davis

Served in the Virginia House of Delegates for six years beginning in 1998; elected Majority Whip in her third term. Served in the Virginia Senate for four years beginning in 2004. Steve Martin

Served in Virginia House of Delegates 1988 to 1994. Member of Virginia Senate since 1994. Chairman of the Senate’s Education and Health Committee.
