WINCHESTER — A Stephens City man has yet to post bond after allegedly robbing another man in the city’s downtown Monday.

Gerone Paige, 32, of the 100 block of Hackberry Drive, appeared Tuesday via video in Winchester General District Court.

He was granted a $15,000 secured bond but remained behind bars on the robbery charge late Tuesday, according to a Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center official.

Officers were called just after 11 p.m. to the area of North Loudoun Street and Fairfax Lane for a reported robbery.

The victim told officers that he was approached by Paige in the area of Boscawen and North Loudoun streets and asked for money.

The victim allegedly pulled his money clip out of his pocket to offer a few dollars when Paige grabbed all his money, before fleeing.

According to a criminal complaint filed in the case, the victim ran after Paige and saw him go into a residence in the 300 block of North Loudoun.

The victim positively identified Paige as the suspect once officers contacted him at the residence.

The criminal complaint states that there were two $20 bills and three $1 bills in the money clip.

Paige is expected back in court on the charge at 2:30 p.m. March 6.
