WINCHESTER — An Inwood, W.Va., woman who stars on the reality television show “Gypsy Sisters” pleaded guilty to an assault charge Monday in Winchester Circuit Court.
Mellie Stanley, 23, appeared in court with attorney Christopher E. Collins of Inger & Collins PC in Winchester.
She made the plea as part of an agreement with the city Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and will serve eight days in jail beginning at 8 p.m. March 15, according to court documents.
Stanley also must pay a $1,000 fine and is banned from Piccadilly’s Public House at 125 E. Piccadilly St.
According to court documents, the misdemeanor charge stems from a July 3 incident in which Stanley hit a manager twice in the face after being asked to leave.
Stanley and Collins, as well as some local businesses, can be seen on “Gypsy Sisters” on TLC. The show premiered Feb. 10.
The six-episode series centers on wild child Stanley — best known for her stripping and violent temper on “My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding” — who returns with her “meddling sister Nettie, cousin Kayla, and loveable Laura for a raucous look at life as a gypsy in the wilds of West Virginia,” the show’s website states.
