Woman charged in knife incident

WINCHESTER — A local woman was arrested earlier this week following an alleged stabbing incident.
According to a press release from Winchester Police Department, Zarita Washington was taken into custody Tuesday evening after allegedly thrusting a knife toward a victim, threatening to stab him, and pushing a police officer in the 400 block of Chase Street.
No injuries were reported.
Washington, 21, was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and malicious wounding, according to the release.
Officers responded to a report of domestic assault at approximately 5 p.m., the release states.
Upon arrival on the scene, Washington allegedly pushed an officer and continued to make “threatening gestures” before being arrested.
