Wind Advisory, Flash Flood Watch for the Area This Afternoon, Evening

The National Weather Service has issued two statements for today.
A WIND ADVISORY is in effect from noon to 6 a.m. Thursday. The strongest winds are expected ahead of an approaching cold front this afternoon and through this evening. Winds will be coming out of the south at 30 to 35 mph. Gusts, mainly on ridges above 1,500 feet of around 50 mph.
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect from 3 p.m. through late tonight. A line of heavy rain and possible thunderstorms will push across the Shenandoah Valley late this afternoon and evening. Total rainfall of 1 to 1.5 inches is expected. Most of this rain will fall in a very short period of time, which could cause flash flooding.
