How do I send a Death Notice/Obituary?
Free death notices should be sent to The Winchester Star directly from the certifying agency handling the arrangements. They can be sent to deathnotices@winchesterstar.com or faxed to 667-1649. After the daily 3:30 p.m. deadline or on the weekend, notices should also be sent to news@winchesterstar.com. Death notices should include full name, age, where they are from, where they died, date of death and who is handling the arrangements.

However, we realize that those in need of such services often prefer something more than what we are able to offer as a free death notice, and so we also offer customizable obituaries as paid advertisements. These items should be created by the agency handling the arrangements and then sent to the advertising department. They can be e-mailed to ads@winchesterstar.com or faxed to 540-667-0012. Photos for paid obituaries should be submitted to ads@winchesterstar.com. The deadline for all paid obituaries is 3:30 p.m. Call 667-3200 to confirm after sending for confirmation.
