- Valley Craftsmen: Chair-Making Demonstration
- Description
- Discover the art of making Windsor and ladder-back chairs in this fascinating program. Led by expert chairmakers Jack McAllister, Jeff Lefkowitz, and John Weissenberger, this demonstration will include a discussion about the history of chair making, a display of eighteenth-century woodworking tools, and demonstrations of how to use a lathe, shaving horse, and a steam box. Participants will also have the opportunity to examine and handle a display including youth chairs, a settee bench, ladder-back chairs, and several styles of Windsor chairs.
