- Maslenitsa, or Russian Pancakes Day, will be celebrated at Handley Library on Saturday, March 16, 1-4 pm, at 100 West Piccadilly Street, Winchester, Virginia.
Maslenitsa is the most joyful Russian holiday as it celebrates the end of winter and marks the start of spring. To commemorate this cultural event, youth services is offering a special program featuring Russian circle dances, matryoshka (i.e., nesting dolls) workshop, children’s games, book readings and the chance to sample traditional Russian bliny (pancakes).
This program is free and open to the public.
