Astronomy Day 2013 Hosted by the Northern Virginia Astronomy Club - May 11th 3 PM to 11 PM at Sky Meadows State Park, VA The whole family will enjoy this free event! Activities include: safe views of the sun, fun games for kids, a guided tour of the night sky and spectacular views of the universe through club member’s telescopes. Presentations rain or shine in our big tent: “Just Do It! Getting Started in Astrophotography” by Bob Traube, “Space Rubble; Things That Can and Do Hit the Earth” by Alan Goldberg and a special presentation by Dr. Timothy Livengood of the UMD/GSFC on “The ABC’s of Comets” This is a free event but the park charges a $4 parking fee – For more information: http://www.novac.com/wp/outreach/astronomyday/
