- Galleries At Night: Peter McCory
- Friday, May 10 • 5–8 p.m. Perfect for families and kids, this special Galleries at Night is free to all! A continuation of the day’s National Public Gardens Day celebration (see info below), the evening will include face-painting and balloon artistry by Glitterbugz from 4 to 7 p.m., and at 6 and 7 p.m., children’s musician Peter McCory will perform. A one-man band, Peter plays the guitar, kick drum, snare, cowbell, harmonica, kazoo, train whistle and mouth siren all at the same time. The café will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. offering both adult and kid-friendly selections. Wine and beer will be available for purchase in the lobby. Free to all. National Public Gardens Day Friday, May 10 • 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Celebrate National Public Gardens Day with the MSV! Admission to the gardens and galleries is free all day. From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. free children’s activities—such as tissue-paper flower-making, plant rubbings, veggie tastings, and garden discovery tours—will take place in the picnic area. Face-painting will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a free kids’/family Tai Chi class will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Be sure to visit the Moveable Feasts exhibition to learn about the history of entertaining in the Museum’s gardens. Garden admission and gallery admission free to all.
