Willa Cather Celebration
Description
Friday, June 7 • 4–9 p.m. Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Willa Cather’s book O Pioneers! At 6 p.m. John T. Jacobs, PhD, Shenandoah University English professor and founder of SU’s Willa Cather Institute, will discuss the influences of impressionistic art on Cather’s writing and detail how O Pioneers! foreshadowed her later works and embodied the writer’s enduring themes of immigration, individual courage, and love.
