On this special day the MSV will be open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. The evening’s highlight will be the 7 p.m. lecture, “Saving Stonewall’s Bacon: The Charlottesville Artillery at Port Republic,” by author and historian Rick Britton. In his presentation, Britton will tell the story of the Charlottesville Artillery and the role it played in the Civil War’s famous Shenandoah Valley Campaign of 1862. The café will serve dinner and dessert from 5 to 9 p.m.; wine and beer will be available for purchase in the Museum lobby. Limited lecture seating is first-come, first-served; tickets will be available beginning at 4 p.m. at the Visitor Information Desk.
Free to MSV Members; all others $5 (includes gallery admission).
