General Galleries at Night: “Saving Stonewall’s Bacon”
Friday, October 12 • 7 p.m. On this special day the MSV will be open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. The evening’s highlight will be the 7 p.m. lecture, “Saving Stonewall’s Bacon: The Charlottesville Artillery at Port Republic,” by author and historian Rick Britton. In his presentation, Britton will tell the story of the Charlottesville Artillery and the role it played in the Civil War’s famous Shenandoah Valley Campaign of 1862. The café will serve dinner and dessert from 5 to 9 p.m.; wine and beer will be available for purchase in the Museum lobby. Limited lecture seating is first-come, first-served; tickets will be available beginning at 4 p.m. at the Visitor Information Desk. Free to MSV Members; all others $5 (includes gallery admission).

General Museum Store Bulb Sale
October 12–21 • 10 a.m.–4 p.m. The MSV wants to help you have a garden full of spring blooms! Stop by the Museum Store to purchase bulbs—including tulips, daffodils, crocuses, and hyacinths—for fall planting. Other bulb-related merchandise will also be available. Need tips on growing bulbs? Don’t miss the how-to Garden Spotlight program about bulbs on October 16 at the MSV.
