General King Street
King St. explores those classic rock and blues favorites, built on a keen attention to dynamics while combining acoustic stylings with electrifying leads. The band's success is largely attributed to a talented ensemble of veteran musicians, each adding real depth to the project. John and I are joined by Terry McManus, one of the area's most dynamic, lead electric-guitar players. Juggling bass, keyboards, guitar, trumpet, flute and vocals; often simultaneously, is Tom Harrison. Tom, also known for his work with the popular band Queen City Funk and Soul, is "as good as it gets!"

General Workshop: How to Research Your House
Think your home has a story to tell? Always wonder about that intriguing house, church, or other building on the corner? If you’ve ever wondered how to get started learning more about the history of any building – this workshop is for you! The Clarke County Historical Association is proud to introduce the first of a new series of research workshops aimed at helping amateur and expert researchers delve into the rich historical record of our area. To begin the series, Maral Kalbian, architectural historian and author of several books including Images of America – Clarke County and Frederick County, Virginia: History Through Architecture will provide an in-depth introduction at how to uncover the history of houses and other structures in the area. A well known historic-preservationist, and a professional historic preservation consultant for more than twenty years, Kalbian has extensive expertise in teasing the true age and history out of complex structures. This is a rare opportunity to learn from an expert in the field. The workshop will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Barns of the Rose Hill, in Berryville, VA. The Clarke County Historical Association archives (at 32 E. Main Street, Berryville, VA) will be open following the program for those who want to get started on their research. The program is free for Clarke County Historical Association Members, and $5 for non-members. Reservations are encouraged. Those who would like to attend should call 540-955-2600 for reservations or more information.
