General Dr. Seuss birthday celebration at Bowman Library
Bowman Library will celebrate the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss on Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. In honor of beloved children’s author, Theodor Seuss Geisel, participants will build trufulla trees, go through the star-on machine, and read some great stories! Featured selections from Dr. Seuss’ collection of children’s books will include Great Day for Up, The Lorax, and The Sneetches. Cupcakes and fruit punch will follow reading, singing, dancing, and active play. This program is free and open to the public.

General Annual Winter Arts & Crafts Show
Join us on Saturday, March 2 at Peter Muhlenberg Middle School in Woodstock, VA for our Annual Winter Arts & Crafts Show where we highlight local and regional arts and their hand-made crafts. Check out the wood crafts, hand-painted items, crocheted and knitted items, candles, jewelry, artwork, photography, and much more. Show runs 9:00am-3:00pm, and admission is FREE to the public. This is a great time to shop for graduation gifts, anniversary items, or birthday presents!

General Start with Art: Beginner's Pottery
Saturday, March 2 • 1–4 p.m. This workshop will introduce youth ages 6 to 10 to the art of pottery. Participants will take a guided tour focused on the Museum’s Shenandoah Valley pottery collection and learn basic pottery terminology and techniques. Guided by instructor Emily Rhodes—owner of Winchester’s Polka Dot Pot studio—participants will create and paint a plate, bowl, or mug. The finished pieces will be displayed in an art show in the Museum’s BB&T Learning Center from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 16. MSV Members: $5; all others: $7.Registration required by February 24.
