General Garden Under Glass: Terrarium Workshop
Wednesday, April 17 • 6:30–8:30 p.m. Combine art and nature in this fun workshop led by expert Porter Kobernick, owner of Winchester’s Tater Hill Terrariums. Porter will detail the art of building a terrarium and guide participants as they create their own special gardens in sealed glass containers. All materials provided. General Echoes through Time: Stories from the Shenandoah Valley
During this free program for children and families, a costumed interpreter in the Shenandoah Valley Gallery will bring Valley history to life. Attendees will meet Nannie Campbell, a young lady who grew up in Frederick County and would eventually live in the Museum’s Glen Burnie House. Nannie’s stories will detail what it was like to live in the Shenandoah Valley during the 1860s. Each of the three identical programs will last about 20 minutes. Adults must accompany participating children. Free to all. Gallery admission is free to all until noon; after noon gallery admission rates apply for visitors age 13 and older.
