General A NIGHT OF ROCK AND ROLL FROM WINCHESTER LOCALS
The Burning Dirty Band consider this more a celebration than just a show, and will be playing several tracks off their most recent album, Goodbye Dominion. "Goodbye Dominion is the defining Burning Dirty Band album. Smartly arranged, blues-tinged indie rock is dappled with psychedelic shimmers, raw lo-fi soul, and simmering, spacious anthemic power. Longtime BDB producer Steve West (Pavement; Silver Jews; Marble Valley) again lends his talents behind the boards. Fans of Spoon, Wilco, David Bowie, The Band, and The Beatles will find plenty to like. This is music of loss, recovery, doubt, daydreams, hard realities, and the uneasy compromises of living in a cluttered world."

Sports Vintage Base Ball Doubleheader
Historic Long Branch, will host a vintage base ball (originally two words) doubleheader on its scheduled rain date Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 10 am until 2 pm. Dr. Rode of Clarke Equine - Wellness and Performance will join us to toss out the first pitch! Visitors to the event will take a step back in time as they watch the Chesapeake Nine of Baltimore take on the Old Dominions of Virginia in a series of games played by the 1864 rulebook. Cranks (1860s term for fans) will feel as though they have returned to the late 19th century to see the ballists (baseball players), outfitted in old-style uniforms, recreate the game by playing by the rules and customs of the 1860s, which includes the ability to tag out opposing players by hitting them with the ball. The lingo, uniforms, and equipment will provide cranks with a great show as well as a history lesson.
