The deadline for applications for the first night of auditions for Apple Blossom’s Got Talent has been extended to Sunday.
The first round of auditions for the talent show will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bright Box Theater at 15 N. Loudoun St.
The two other preliminary auditions will be held Feb. 11 and March 11, and the semifinals are scheduled for April 8 — all of which will be held at the Bright Box Theater.
Finals will held April 29 at the same location.
If not chosen for the first audition, applications will be kept and reviewed for the second and third nights of auditions.
Because the venue has changed from the Sprint Tent on the Winchester Medical Center campus to the Bright Box downtown, there will be no stipulations in terms of what kind of talent is acceptable. This year, fire, knives and pets are allowed, according to Theresa Gaines, co-director of the event.
Applicants should apply online at thebloom.com. The application fee is $10. Participants must submit their payment, an audio/video of their talent via a Web link or MP3, and their application in one submission.
Only 30 people are allowed to compete per audition, and 10 will be chosen to move forward from each.
The final 30 contestants will compete in the semifinals, and 12 will be selected to compete in the final competition.
The Apple Blossom’s Got Talent event is being sponsored by Car Credit Nation and PMSI.
The 88th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival will be held April 24 to May 3.
