WINCHESTER — Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival Officials have named Pastor Philip King from Calvary Baptist Church as this year’s Prelate at the Coronation of Queen Shenandoah XCI. The Coronation will be held at 2:30 p.m. May 4.

Pastor Philip King is a native of Rockingham, N.C. He graduated from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (Liberty University) with a Master of Divinity Degree. Prior to coming to Calvary, King served as Associate Pastor of Education and Administration at Intentional Love Baptist Church in Fuquay Varina, N.C.

Preceding his entry into the ministry, King served as a solider in the U.S. Army Special Forces and in law enforcement with the state of North Carolina. King has also earned bachelor’s degrees in administrative management and parks and recreation management. Additionally, he completed a Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.

King and his wife, Gina, have been married since 2001 and have two children: Kylie, born in 2007, and Tyler, born in 2010.

Advance ticket orders for the Coronation may be placed now at Festival Headquarters, or purchased in person at our souvenir store, located at 2218 Wilson Blvd, in the Pineville Plaza, beginning April 6.
