WINCHESTER — The body of a local woman found Friday in a burnt vehicle has been identified, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.

Tina MacDowall, 53, was found near her home in the 400 block of Dicks Hollow Road after sheriff’s deputies and the Frederick County Fire and Rescue Department responded to a vehicle fire at about 8:30 p.m. Friday. Fire and Rescue discovered the body while extinguishing the fire.

It was determined MacDowall was the owner of the vehicle.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office, which performed the autopsy, has determined the death was not a homicide, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office was also involved in the investigation.
