KERNSTOWN — CareerBuilder, one of the nation’s largest online employment websites that opened a Frederick County location in February, is more than halfway toward its goal of hiring 300 people, the company said on Wednesday.
“Renovations are finished and the facility is fully functional,” Kristen Whitt, executive vice president of employment screening, said in an email about the 20,000- square-foot call center at 131 Dawson Drive, which previously housed American Woodmark’s headquarters. “As of [June] there are 160 employees in Winchester. We are hiring to roughly 300 people.”
Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Chicago, CareerBuilder is used by job seekers to find employment and by employers for services that include finding candidates, employment screening and marketing.
The Frederick County facility is hiring “background verification specialists” to receive and process background checks. The pay is $10 to $14 an hour. It also is hiring tech support positions, which requires a degree in computer science.
Whitt said people interested in jobs should apply online at screen.careerbuilder.com/ and click on the “about us” tab.
“We are hiring part-time, full time, day and evening shifts for those interested,” Whitt said.
