WINCHESTER — The public is being asked to help remove trash and debris from Jim Barnett Park from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Registration for Park Cleanup Day will begin at 8:30 a.m. outside the War Memorial Building’s Recreation Center.

“Jim Barnett Park spans over 100 acres and is a beautiful resource for residents and visitors to our community,” Lynn Miller, Winchester Parks and Recreation director, said in a media release. “Having a Park Cleanup Day provides an opportunity for the local residents to have a direct investment in maintaining their park.”

All participants in Park Cleanup Day will receive a voucher for free admission to Jim Barnett Park’s outdoor pool for Saturday’s Splash Bash, the city’s annual summer kickoff celebration. Splash Bash will be held from noon to 4 p.m., and the pool and its concession stand will remain open until 6:45 p.m.
